July 7th: The first Rotterdam Open Data Experiences Conference (ODEC)
At July 7th 2011, Rotterdam Open Data organizes the first Open Data Experiences Conference (ODEC). During this conference, people from around the world share their Open Data experiences and experiments.
The organisation is proud of the speakers who are willing to share their experiences. Some of the speakers are: John Post of IBM, Toby Barnes of Mudlark and Hans Abbink of Almende.
There is a wide programme at the conference. In the morning, speakers will keep the attending people busy with their presentations and in the midday programme, the themes: business, technology, information and society and open government will be deepened out with parallel-tracks with speakers and examples from the practice.
Tom Steinberg of MySociety will finish the midday and alderman Korrie Louwes will open the end event with the results of the projects of 200 students. The students have been conducting research to the potentials of Open Data as a municipal service as an assignment of 7 divisions of the City of Rotterdam. The Creative Industry of Rotterdam supported this project.
