Dynamic Mapping. In Dynamic Mapping, both official information as well as user-generated in information is combined into interactive maps of certain areas in the city. This has been done for the Heijplaat area as well as the Kruiskade area in Rotterdam. Through the combination of different information sources, formerly unseen insights are revealed.

In collaboration with mediastudents research conducted about Social Media in Highschool. First, all social media applications were mapped through the HypeCycle of Gartner. After that several trends were judged by their impact and probability. With future scenarios, students came up with concepts for the future of Highschools using Social Media. With this project we investigate how interactive installations in the public domain have effect on the emotional experience of people in public. By combining ICT, Video-projection, Audio and Art the sensory experience gets stimulated. Projectmovie

The objective of project is to gain insight in how the services of Rotterdam Library (Bibliotheek Rotterdam) are being experienced by their visitors and customers. A group of Innovation Lab students conducted several field studies and facilitated several Design Research workshops with the staff.

The students from our Innovation Lab were asked to build an interactive installation for the entrance of TEDx Youth@Amsterdam at Nemo Amsterdam on 20 November 2010. 200 kids were invited to attend the event. The city is changing, also the use of property or better to say the emptiness of it. By using the empty property as canvas for interactive experiment we are researching how it affects life on the streets.

The project examines how the care for seniors through a videophone can improve. The possibilities of co-creation as a design methodology is being used, in which visual ethnographic research prevails.

In collaboration with Care Zorgberaad Zuid-Holland Zuid both students and researchers work on the project "Smullen uit de Pressure Cooker’. Pressure Cooker (2009) has shown that the use of ICT in the healthcare sector to lead to resistance of employees. Several student teams have researched this resistance and realized a new ICT application in cooperation with the Crabbehof. Contact: Parmila Khubsing
